About us
Who we are
Who we are
HopeWorks Global is a prevention-focused organization working to stop human trafficking before it begins.
We equip individuals, families, and institutions with practical tools to recognize risk early, reduce vulnerability, and respond safely within real-world environments.
Prevention is not positioned as secondary to response. It is the most effective point of intervention.
Why HopeWorksÂ
HopeWorks Global is guided by biblical principles that call for the protection of the vulnerable and responsible action in the face of risk.
Our work is grounded in the understanding that intervention must begin before exploitation occurs. Prevention is both a practical responsibility and a moral obligation.
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves… defend the rights of the poor and needy.” (Proverbs 31:8–9)
This foundation informs how we approach training, community engagement, and system-level prevention.
A Story Behind the Mission
This work is not theoretical. It is personal.
Our founder was raised in Kitui, Kenya, in a context where poverty, instability, and silence shaped everyday life. Early exposure to domestic violence and abuse revealed how vulnerability develops long before it is named.
The defining turning point came when her sister was trafficked.
The indicators were present, but not recognized. By the time she returned, the harm had already occurred. She later died from complications connected to that exploitation.
There was no framework to interpret what had happened. No shared language. No early intervention.
That gap between risk and recognition is where this work now operates. What was missed then is what many families and professionals still miss today.
Years later, supporting another individual in a trafficking situation brought clarity. The patterns became identifiable. The progression made sense. What had once been invisible was now measurable and preventable.
HopeWorks Global exists to ensure those patterns are recognized earlier, before harm escalates.
Why This Work Exists
Trafficking rarely begins at the point of crisis. It develops over time through vulnerability, manipulation, and missed indicators.
Most systems are designed to respond once harm is visible. By that stage, options are limited and impact is already significant.
HopeWorks focuses earlier, where risk is forming but not yet recognized.
This includes conditions such as:
Poverty and economic instability
Limited access to education and resources
Gender inequality and power imbalance
Digital exposure without safeguards
Gaps in awareness across systems and communities
Addressing these conditions early changes outcomes. It creates opportunities to intervene before exploitation takes hold, rather than responding after it has already occurred.
How We Operate
We Train
We equip professionals, parents, and youth-serving organizations with practical tools to identify trafficking risk early and respond appropriately in real-world situations.
We Prevent
We reduce vulnerability before exploitation occurs through targeted education, awareness, and community-based strategies.
We Strengthen Systems
We improve coordination, early identification, and response across agencies and organizations working with youth.
We Engage Communities
We work with youth, families, and community partners to increase awareness, strengthen decision-making, and support safer outcomes.
Our Foundation
Our work is rooted in a commitment to defend the dignity and rights of those at risk.
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves… defend the rights of the poor and needy.” (Proverbs 31:8–9)
This is not symbolic. It is operational.
It shapes how we approach prevention, how we engage communities, and how we define responsibility.
Mission
To prevent human trafficking by equipping individuals, families, and systems with the knowledge and tools to recognize risk, respond effectively, and reduce vulnerability.
Vision
A world where exploitation is interrupted early because people know what to look for, understand how to act, and have access to coordinated support systems.
Our Values in Practice
Compassion
We respond to vulnerability with clarity, respect, and purpose, ensuring individuals are treated with dignity and care in every interaction
Awareness
We bring hidden risk factors into focus through education and engagement, helping communities recognize early warning signs and act with confidence
Resilience
We support long-term stability and pathways that reduce vulnerability, strengthening the ability of individuals and communities to navigate risk and recover from adversity
Empowerment
We equip individuals and communities with the tools to recognize risk and act early, building confidence and capacity to make informed, safer decisions
Our Role
HopeWorks operates at the prevention and early identification stage.
We do not conduct investigations
We do not replace law enforcement or licensed service providers
We strengthen the point where risk is first recognized and ensure individuals and systems know how to respond appropriately.
