WHY HOPEWORKS GLOBAL, INC. BEGAN
A family did not know the signs. That experience became a call to act earlier.
HopeWorks Global, Inc. was founded by Linda, a human-rights and anti-trafficking consultant whose commitment to prevention is rooted in lived experience.
Linda grew up in an arid region where water scarcity, poverty, barriers to education, and limited economic opportunity shaped everyday choices. Within her own family, exploitation was not recognized for what it was until years of harm had already occurred.
Linda also experienced abuse by people known and trusted by the family. Those experiences showed how silence, stigma, dependency, and limited information can allow exploitation to continue unseen.
Years later, Linda advocated alongside community partners for a young woman facing exploitation in Harford County. Helping her reach qualified recovery services reinforced the same lesson: recognition, practical knowledge, and sustained advocacy can change what happens next.
HopeWorks Global, Inc. grew from that call to act earlier, equip people more practically, and strengthen the systems around children before concerns are missed or mishandled.

HopeWorks VITAL adds a specialized accessibility-centered program for children and youth who benefit from adapted communication, learning, sensory, mobility, or support approaches.
